We've recently opened our first store in August 2008 in the heart of the business district of Beijing in the China World Trade Center. Our second Beijing location is in Nali Mall alongside boutiques, galleries, and cafes in the Sanlitun bar street.

In the next few months American Apparel is slated to open stores in Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Suzhou.

In a rare industry occurrence, we are bringing Made in the USA clothing to China and we are paying employees there gross wages that exceed the US minimum.
